Put to the test: Sofwave - Eve Cameron
Good Housekeeping May 2024
Another needle-free alternative I’ve tried is Sofwave. This uses ultrasound energy beamed into the skin 1.5mm deep, so there’s no risk of damaging structures lower down, such as precious fat reserves. Like radiofrequency it heats the skin, in this case to between 60 and 70°C, to denature the collagen and stimulate a healing, rejuvenating response. Because I was curious to see what effect it could have in the eye area – the last stop before the blepharoplasty I’m considering – I went to see consultant oculoplastic surgeon Dr Jenny Doyle.
