The number of treatments varies according to the amount of fat that needs to be dissolved to achieve the desired aesthetic result. The individual reaction of the fat tissue can also influence how many treatments are needed. On average, you should expect to require between 3-5 treatments, approximately 3-4 weeks apart.

Aqualyx is regarded as a safe treatment. The manufacturers have reported no major side effects. Complications with Aqualyx are rare. Swelling, redness and bruising are expected side effects which resolve within 1-2 weeks. You may experience some discomfort during the treatment; however, we do add a local anaesthetic to the solution to make it more comfortable. As with any injection, there is a risk of bleeding and bruising, as well as the possibility of infection. Good injection technique and keeping the procedure sterile will minimise these risks, as will your following of our aftercare advice.

The procedure takes 45 minutes, including a pre-treatment consultation.

Any swelling, redness or bruising generally settles within 1-2 weeks after the procedure.

There is some discomfort during the injections, but this is short lived and most clients tolerate it very well. We add a local anaesthetic to the solution to make the treatment more comfortable.
