Pure Impact™ employs a range of muscle activation techniques to stimulate different muscle groups and promote overall muscle engagement to: maximise the muscle response, enhance muscle endurance, improve muscle tone, promote balanced muscle development, and improve core stability. Pure Impact™ ensures consistent and effective treatment outcomes through a choice of different types of workouts, depending on the treatment pathway devised for each patient. During a Pure Impact™ treatment session, patients can expect to feel a series of gentle pulses targeting specific muscle groups. These pulses stimulate muscle contractions, mimicking the effects of an intense workout. While the sensation may feel unfamiliar at first, most patients find the treatment comfortable and well tolerated. Muscles are contracted in synchronisation, to emulate real plyometrics exercises like jump squats – a technique that engages muscles involuntarily, resulting in more efficient and effective workouts. And even better: there is no downtime nor recovery period with Pure Impact™ – our patients may resume normal, everyday activities immediately after each session.

For some years, BTL EMSCULPT® treatment in London has been the market leader in non-invasive body contouring; and Pure Impact™ by Sofwave™ is a device with similar aims: to promote muscle toning and muscle building through involuntary, high intensity contractions delivered via neuromuscular electrical stimulation (EMS). In short, non-surgical body contouring and fat reduction without surgery.

Noticeable differences between Pure Impact™ and BTL EMSCULPT® treatments are in the handling of their applicators. Where BTL EMSCULPT® uses a large paddle that covers the entire abs area and needs to be held in place with a thick strap, Pure Impact™ uses up to 16 small electrodes that can target specific muscles for a workout and be arranged accordingly (and without the need for a thick strap to hold them all in place). No downtime nor recovery period. However, following a treatment, patients may feel muscle fatigue or some random muscle contraction, because in a single session, 4 treatment areas can be treated all at once. Immediately after each treatment, therefore, the patient can expect to feel muscle contractions in response to this stimulation, and perhaps some tingling in the treated areas for the next few hours.

There may also be an increase in the patient’s metabolic rate following a Pure Impact™ session, which may manifest in an increased hunger. However, each patient will be made fully aware of this outcome and be advised not to overeat. Instead, patients are recommended to drink plenty of water, eat healthily, and exercise routinely (which includes walking).

Yes. Pure Impact™ by Sofwave™ is totally safe: with FDA approval in the US (as well as full clearance in Canada) for the strengthening, firming and toning of the abdomen, buttocks and thighs. Pure Impact™ enables parallel stimulation of both oblique and longitudinal muscles, and offers a variety of treatment protocols. Moreover, there is minimal discomfort with Pure Impact™ due to its ability to adjust treatment intensity based on each patient’s tolerability.

Each session lasts for approximately 30 minutes; and a typical course of Pure Impact™ would be 4 sessions over 2 weeks, with 2 sessions a week. By the end of a course of 4 sessions, you will notice an improvement in muscle tone, firmness and strength. However, the exact timeline for results may vary depending on individual factors such as age, skin type, and lifestyle habits. Of course, each patient is encouraged to follow a wholesome nutritional plan and a healthy lifestyle (including physical exercise) to achieve optimum results.

Maintenance treatments are recommended every 2-3 months; but a healthy lifestyle will also ensure the maintenance of results. In between maintenance sessions, any issues of skin laxity can be improved with Sofwave™ treatments. Yes – Fitzpatrick types I-VI are all suitable; but it is not recommended to apply the electrodes on any area with open wounds or on skin that is sensitive to hydrogel.

Yes. The contraindications are:

• A pacemaker, internal defibrillator, or any other metallic or electronic implant anywhere in the body
• Osteosynthesis equipment: a permanent implant in the treated area such as metal plates, screws, metal piercing, silicone implants, or an injected chemical substance, unless deep enough in the periosteal plane
• Pregnancy
• Blood-clotting disorder
• Serious arterial circulation disorders in the lower limbs
• Abdominal or inguinal hernia
• A current condition of any type of cancer
• Severe concurrent conditions, such as cardiac disorders, sensory disturbances, epilepsy, uncontrolled hypertension, and liver or kidney diseases
• Impaired immune system due to immunosuppressive diseases such as HIV, autoimmune disorders, or the use of immunosuppressive medications
• Any active condition in the treatment area, such as open wounds, sores, psoriasis, eczema or a rash
• Any sensitivity to hydrogel (Pure Impact™ electrode pads are made of hydrogel)
• Any surgical procedure in the treatment area within the last 6 months or before complete healing
• Muscle atrophy
• Persistent pain in the treated area
• Need for muscle rehabilitation.
