FAQs

Quadralase is a non-surgical procedure that utilises Sciton® Erbium profractional laser energy to lift both the upper and lower eyelids. Our experienced eye surgeons are trained to use this powerful laser to safely and effectively produce significant improvement to the entire eye area. No surgery, nor stitches: so, it appeals to those who are unsure of whether they are ready for surgery; plus, the laser therapy delivers a myriad of aesthetic outcomes – improved texture and skin rejuvenation – that surgery cannot improve.

Not everybody is suitable for, or even wants upper- or lower-lid surgery; yet many clients want rejuvenation in the entire eye area, but are not candidates for surgery because they do not have enough fat in the area to be excised. For these clients a laser procedure is ideal; and our Sciton® Erbium laser is an effective and safe option for lift and skin-tightening in both the upper- and lower-lid areas when surgery is neither needed nor an option. In addition, while surgical blepharoplasty can adequately address excess skin, orbital fat prolapse and ptosis, surgery does not address surface-level concerns such as skin laxity, texture, fine lines, and pigmentation. However, all these facets can be improved with Erbium profractional laser resurfacing.

Patients will have oral sedation, and the entire procedure is performed under local anaesthetic in one of our surgical theatres on-site at The Clinic Holland Park, West London. You will have guards inserted under your eyelids to protect your eyes from the laser throughout the treatment. The entire procedure will take approx. 10-20 minutes, after which time you will be taken to recuperate in one of our private recovery pods and attended to by our nursing staff.

Downtime is approximately 1-2 weeks, after which there will be minimal bruising and marking, and you can resume wearing makeup and your normal activities.

After the procedure, you will be given a dermatological skin cream to apply to your upper and lower lids. The treated skin around your eyes will harden and then peel, so expect these changes within the first week. A follow-up appointment with your surgeon to review your results and recovery takes place around 14 days after the procedure at The Clinic Holland Park, West London.

Quadralase is an effective and efficient solution for individuals seeking comprehensive eyelid rejuvenation, but don’t want or need cosmetic eye surgery. The advantage of a Quadralase laser blepharoplasty is its safety and efficacy profile; in addition to the laser’s ability to address multiple aesthetic concerns in all four eyelids simultaneously.
