Sciton BBL® & HALO® TRIBRID™ Combined Overview

The Sciton BBL® and HALO® TRIBRID™ combination is a state-of-the-art laser therapy that holistically targets a range of skin imperfections to promote a luminous, youthful complexion. The BBL component effectively treats:

  • pigmentation irregularities: age spots, sun damage, freckles, melasma
  • vascular concerns: redness, rosacea, broken capillaries, spider veins
  • acne
  • dullness and fine wrinkles;

while HALO® TRIBRID™ enhances skin texture and tone by:

  • minimising enlarged pores
  • reducing fine lines and deeper wrinkles
  • improving skin laxity, and
  • diminishing discolouration and scarring.

This fusion of the best in modern laser therapies – Sciton’s BroadBand Light (BBL) with Sciton’s HALO® TRIBRID™ – is at the forefront of non-surgical aesthetics, exclusively curated for people seeking transformative results with minimal interruption to their lifestyles (downtime of approximately one week). Suitable for both face and body areas, Fitzpatrick skin types I-V.

FAQs

The Sciton BBL® and HALO® TRIBRID™ combination treatment stands superior because of its synergy, which amplifies results beyond those of standalone modalities or competing technologies (such as Fraxel, IPL, or traditional CO2 lasers). While single-laser approaches may address either pigmentation or texture in isolation, this procedure harnesses BBL for colour-correction and TRIBRID™ fractional ablation for deeper treatments (to tackle wrinkles, for example), which together yield cumulative, long-lasting improvements to natural glow, tone and texture. Clinical research from Stanford University on a ten-year study has shown that exposure to BBL 2-3 times a year prevents the ageing of skin cells at a genetic level. The Sciton BBL® and HALO® TRIBRID™ combination laser therapy is the latest in high-tech, modern aesthetics innovation, and excels in the delivery of effective skin revitalisation.

Not many: 1 to 2 treatments will suffice for a remarkable transformation – positioning this combination procedure as a gold-standard for comprehensive anti-ageing and corrective care. Patients frequently report outcomes that rival more invasive procedures – notably heightened collagen production and longer-lasting vitality (as evidenced in the Stanford research on the benefits of long-term BBL treatments) – and with much less downtime too.

To optimise safety and efficacy, we recommend the following preparations. At least four weeks prior to treatment, please discontinue the use of self-tanning products or sunbeds to prevent heightened sensitivity; and for at least two weeks prior to your session, avoid direct sun exposure. Three days beforehand, stop using skincare that contains retinoids, exfoliants, or other active ingredients (such as AHAs and BHAs).

To ensure patient comfort, a topical anaesthetic cream is applied 30 minutes in advance to numb the treatable area. The session begins with BBL, which delivers precise pulses of broadband light to target pigmentation and regenerate the skin; followed by HALO® TRIBRID™, which employs a triple-wavelength system to resurface the skin. You will be wearing protective eyewear throughout the procedure.

Yes, but not for long. Immediately post-procedure, mild redness and warmth may occur (akin to a sunburn), which will persist for 1 to 2 hours. There will be subtle swelling for the first couple of days. Typically, peeling commences within 2 to 5 days, and is fully resolved in 5 to 7 days on the face (or up to 2 weeks on the body). Most patients resume everyday activities within 24 to 48 hours; but you are advised not to apply makeup until your skin is healed.  This downtime that (generally) lasts up to a week is notably shorter than that of ablative lasers.

Yes: post-procedural care is essential to preserve and enhance your treatment. For the first 72 hours, to mitigate swelling, please avoid exposure to excessive heat sources such as saunas and hot showers, and desist from vigorous exercise. Gently cleanse the treated area with a mild, fragrance-free product, and apply a prescribed moisturiser to support hydration and barrier repair. Strict sun protection is imperative: avoid direct exposure to the sun for at least two weeks (preferably for the first month); and always use a broad-spectrum SPF50+ sunscreen. For the first week after a treatment, do not use exfoliants, retinoids, or aggressive active skincare. Importantly, please refrain from picking at any flaking skin to prevent complications.

Initial results manifest within days of healing, with progressive enhancements over the following 3 to 6 months. For optimal results and maintenance, we recommend 1 to 2 sessions of BBL® and HALO® TRIBRID™ a year.
