Sciton Clear Suite
Effective laser therapy for deep vascular lesions and redness
- Sciton’s Clear Suite at The Clinic Holland Park, West London is a state-of-the-art laser platform designed to address a wide range of skin and vascular concerns.
- Clear Suite includes two key treatments: ClearV®, which focuses on vascular lesions; and ClearSilk®, which enhances skin texture and appearance.
- Both ClearV® and ClearSilk® treatments are non-invasive, suitable for all skin types (Fitzpatrick I-VI), and require little to no downtime, allowing patients to resume daily activities immediately.

ClearV® - excellence in vascular treatments
Sciton’s ClearV® utilises a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser that is specifically designed for the precise and effective treatment of deep vascular lesions, particularly larger, deeper vessels. This laser therapy offers a non-invasive treatment for conditions such as rosacea, spider veins (telangiectasia), broken capillaries, varicose veins, reticular veins (blue-purple veins), strawberry marks (haemangiomas), and birthmarks (such as port-wine stains). ClearV® is widely known for its efficacy in targeting deeper vascular structures while minimising collateral damage to surrounding skin; and this laser can also treat periorbital veins, skin tags, and warts. A ClearV® treatment provides precision, minimal downtime, and long-term effectiveness, with reduced risk of scarring. ClearV®’s key innovations include:
- Subsurface Vein Illumination (SVI™): a technology that enhances the visibility of subsurface and feeder veins that cannot be seen by the naked eye, which facilitates more precise, thorough treatments.
- VascuZoom: allows for spot-size adjustments between 2-6mm directly on the handpiece, so treatments can be tailored according to each client’s vessel size and depth.
- Adjustable integrated cooling: the laser’s sapphire tip has a cooling range of 5-25°C, which optimises patient comfort both during and after treatment, significantly reducing the risk of thermal damage.
- Clinical Efficacy: the 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength yields a strong absorption in oxyhaemoglobin, selectively heating targeted veins for superior results. Effective for treating visible vessels, broken capillaries and skin discolouration.
ClearV® is particularly noted for its ability to treat complex vascular conditions such as telangiectasia, poikiloderma, cherry angiomas, and vascular melasma, especially when combined with BBL® Hero™. The treatment is suitable for all areas of the body, with the face and legs being the most common. The number of sessions needed (between one and three) will depend on each client’s vessel characteristics and healing response.

ClearSilk® - skin revitalisation, improved texture and luminosity
Sciton’s ClearSilk® is a non-ablative laser treatment for skin revitalisation. A ClearSilk® treatment deposits heat into micro vessels in the skin, increasing blood temperature to stimulate both fibroblast and collagen activity as well as the body’s natural repair process. This results in reduced fine lines and wrinkles, and improved skin texture and luminosity. ClearSilk® laser treatments tackle minor skin imperfections, including pigmented lesions, acne scarring, and diffuse redness.
ClearSilk® is effective for treating the face, neck, and décolletage, with no downtime, allowing patients to resume work and exercise immediately. It is particularly suitable as a first laser treatment and is safe for all skin types, making it an ideal option for skin maintenance, be it prejuvenation or rejuvenation. When combined with BBL® HERO™, ClearSilk®’s results are enhanced for the treatment of uneven texture, dull skin, rosacea, and diffuse redness – offering a comprehensive solution to a number of skincare issues while delivering a gentle glow to the skin.
FAQs
An Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet) is a type of crystalline medium used in laser therapy to treat deep pigmentation; and is considered the safest laser treatment for darker skin types (Fitzpatrick V and VI). Nd:YAG produces infrared, high-energy light at the wavelength of 1064 nanometres, which can reach deeper layers of the skin than other types of lasers (Sciton’s Moxi™, HALO® and BBL® modalities, for example). A Nd:YAG laser can heat up, target and destroy pigmented lesions and vascular lesions, which encourages new cell growth and stimulates the production of collagen in the treated area.
- Pigmented lesions: brown age spots (solar lentigines), sun damage, freckles, naevi (blue-grey patches), dark pigmentation under the eyes
- Vascular lesions: including spider veins, broken capillaries, varicose veins, thread veins, strawberry marks, birthmarks.
- Selective targeting and precision: the 1064 nm wavelength effectively targets oxyhaemoglobin and deoxygenated haemoglobin within blood vessels, to ensure a precise treatment with minimal damage to surrounding tissues.
- Deeper penetration for larger vessels: the Sciton 1064 nm laser’s longer wavelength allows for deeper penetration into the skin, making it effective for treating larger and deeper vascular lesions, such as leg veins and venous lakes.
- Minimal downtime and non-invasive: compared to surgery, or sclerotherapy (which involves injecting medicine into vascular lesions to make them shrink), Sciton’s 1064 nm laser therapy is non-invasive and has minimal downtime, allowing patients to resume normal activities directly after treatment.
- Reduced risk of scarring:the controlled, precise delivery of energy, coupled with the cooling mechanisms in Sciton’s 1064 nm laser, work to minimise thermal damage to surrounding tissue, which reduces the likelihood of scarring.
- Long-term efficacy: most patients experience significant and long-lasting clearance of vascular and/or pigmented lesions after a series of treatments.
Laser therapy is the preferred treatment modality for vascular lesions (spider veins, rosacea) and venous malformations (birthmarks, strawberry marks, etc); yet Sciton’s 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser stands apart from competing laser technologies, both for its deep tissue penetration and its effectiveness on a range of vascular conditions. Unlike other lasers, Sciton’s 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser can selectively target haemoglobin-rich blood vessels while preserving adjacent tissue, thus minimising the risk of scarring.
Yes: expect to feel a stinging or burning sensation, but it will only last for a second! Be assured that the pain really is momentary and subsides as soon as the area has been zapped. There is no ache, burning or peeling to worry about.
While generally safe, certain conditions contraindicate these treatments:
- Pregnancy
- Active infections in the treatment area, which should be resolved before proceeding
- Use of medications like isotretinoin (Accutane), which can increase skin sensitivity
- History of keloid formation, because laser treatments may trigger keloid development
- Some darker skin tones. Although Nd:YAG lasers are suitable for all skin types, darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick V-VI) may have a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation
- Recent sun exposure or tanning
- Presence of implants or metal in the treatment area, because Nd:YAG lasers can heat metal objects.
Potential side effects include temporary redness, swelling, bruising; and, in rare cases, blistering or hyperpigmentation, particularly in darker skin types (Fitzpatrick types V and VI).
This varies from patient to patient; most require 1 to 3 sessions for optimum results. Highly resistant vascular lesions might require more than one treatment; while more superficial vascular lesions might benefit from a combination of laser treatments, utilising Sciton’s BBL® alongside Sciton’s 1064 nm laser, for example.
