The MicroFusion Facial at The Clinic Holland Park
The MicroFusion Facial: to improve pore size, skin laxity, sebum control, scars, rosacea, and fine lines. FAQs
The MicroFusion Facial combines the minimally invasive penetrative benefits of microneedling by SkinPen with the micro-dosing of anti-wrinkle toxins, to deliver impressive skin-tightening results. And because the anti-wrinkle toxins are driven through the channels created in the epidermis by the microneedling, they do not reach the facial musculature but serve to temporarily tighten the skin and improve its appearance.
The anti-wrinkle toxins used in a MicroFusion Facial therefore target the skin rather than underlying muscles; aiming to enhance skin quality without affecting facial expressions, which makes it an attractive option for those seeking subtle, natural-looking aesthetic improvements. The MicroFusion Facial is particularly good for the following:
- Improved skin texture and radiance: skin texture is refined by the reduction in oil production and by the minimising of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a smoother and more glowing complexion.
- Reduction of pore size: by inhibiting the activity of sebaceous glands, the MicroFusion Facial can lead to a noticeable reduction in pore size, particularly for clients with oily or acne-prone skin.
- Subtle wrinkle reduction: unlike traditional anti-wrinkle injections, which target deeper muscles, the MicroFusion Facial smooths superficial fine lines without causing a ‘frozen’ appearance, preserving natural facial expressions.
- Enhanced hydration and collagen stimulation: the MicroFusion Facial’s combination procedure of microneedling by SkinPen boosted the application of anti-wrinkle toxins promotes both collagen production and skin hydration, leading to a rejuvenated and youthful look over time.
The MicroFusion Facial at The Clinic Holland Park, West London addresses concerns like fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity, acne scars, open pores, redness, rosacea, and overall skin quality. The MicroFusion Facial serves to tighten and rejuvenate the face, but without the risk of the ‘frozen’ appearance associated with traditional anti-wrinkle injections.
This temporary tightening of the skin lasts for approximately one month, which makes the MicroFusion Facial an ideal, natural-looking aesthetic treat for special occasions or red-carpet events.
Prior to the procedure, the face is prepared with topical anaesthetic so that the microneedling experience is as comfortable as possible (topical anaesthesia takes half an hour to numb the face). The actual MicroFusion Facial procedure – the microneedling followed by the delivery of the anti-wrinkle toxins via TargetCool’s precision jet spray – takes little more than a quarter of an hour. The MicroFusion Facial is a quick treatment, and your entire appointment will be over in less than an hour.
The MicroFusion Facial is ideal for clients who are looking for subtle, temporary, and non-invasive correction to fine lines, wrinkles, redness, and uneven texture on the face. However, the MicroFusion Facial is not recommended for any of the following:
- anybody who has taken Accutane in the past six months
- anybody with open wounds or an infection around the area to be treated
- women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- anybody with a history of keloid scarring.
The following preparations are necessary:
- Avoid Accutane for 6 months
- Avoid retinoids, topical antibiotics and exfoliants in the area to be treated for at least 3 days prior to the procedure
- Do not have any IPL or laser procedures before treatment
- Refrain from waxing, depilatory creams, shaving or electrolysis in the area for a week prior to treatment
- Reschedule your appointment if a rash, blemish or cold sore develops in the area during the days leading up to treatment.
Generally, the MicroFusion Facial is well tolerated, with minimal discomfort or skin irritation. First of all, topical anaesthetic is applied to the facial area to be treated, so the microneedling procedure will cause minimal discomfort. Moreover, the use of TargetCool’s precision device to drive the anti-wrinkle toxins into the face is a game-changer: the cooling jet works as an anaesthesia in itself, while also optimising the efficacious delivery of the anti-wrinkle toxins deep into the skin.
For a couple of days after the procedure, the skin might feel warm, tight or itchy; and be very sensitive to sun exposure, which should be avoided for (at least) a week afterwards. An antiviral medication may be prescribed, if clients are prone to getting cold sores.
Side effects such as headache, bruising, swelling, muscle weakness, or an allergic reaction are very uncommon. If a client wants to take painkillers, use paracetamol.
Typically, clients will have a few days of mild skin irritation, dryness and flaking. Clients are advised to avoid direct sun exposure for a week after the procedure; and to be mindful of using sufficient mineral sunscreen of at least SPF30+. Most clients go back to work and resume normal activities on the day following the procedure.
Results of the procedure will begin to take effect within one week – toned, rejuvenated skin. Effects are subtle and not long-lasting; upkeep or maintenance treatments are required every month.
