Ms Aoife Naughton is a highly experienced, innovative ophthalmic and oculoplastic surgeon from Ireland. She holds a substantive NHS Consultant Oculoplastic Surgeon post in Portsmouth University Hospitals NHS Trust. She completed her Ophthalmic Specialty training in the Oxford deanery. She has extensive additional sub-specialty training in Oculoplastic surgery, having undertaken two prestigious specialist Oculoplastic Fellowships at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London, and at the Oxford Eye Hospital.
Aoife specialises in both aesthetic and functional oculoplastic surgery, including reconstructive surgery and lacrimal surgery. Her signature aesthetic procedure is blepharoplasty surgery and she was awarded the Prize for “Best Surgical Video” at the Inaugural World Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery Conference in Dubai in 2023. She also uses an array of advanced and innovative non-surgical treatments for periocular rejuvenation, tailoring treatments to each individual for enhanced results.
She is active in oculoplastic research and has presented extensively at national and international meetings. She was senior author in the ‘Prize for Best Paper Presentation’ at the prestigious British Oculoplastic Surgery Society Meeting in 2024. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Member of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society, Member of the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Aoife has a passion for teaching and seeks to cultivate and inspire surgical excellence, working to deliver safe surgical training in ophthalmology. She was instrumental in the set-up of a surgical simulation suite in Oxford, to train future generations of ophthalmic surgeons safely. She is an appointed aesthetics trainer for Acquisition Aesthetics.
